I spent a long time looking for an illustrator for my book Go To Sleep! When I found Sarah’s website, I knew immediately that she was the right person for the job. The main characters in the book are all animals, so it was important that the artist I chose was able to bring animal charac

ters to life in a way that is both authentic and appealing. It was clear from Sarah’s impressive portfolio that she could do that.

It was a fascinating process seeing Tansy the sheep and her friends come to life, from first sketches to the final full-colour proof. Go To Sleep! is a bedtime story and set mostly at night, which could have been a challenge, but Sarah’s pictures capture the atmosphere perfectly. There’s also a fair bit of humour in the story, and that comes across in clever and often subtle ways. I didn’t realise sheep could have so many facial expressions!

Sarah was lovely to work with and keen to make sure that the illustrations were a perfect children book reviewmatch for the story. It’s obvious that she really cares about her work and wants you, the author, to be happy with the final results. Go To Sleep! has already received many five-star reviews on Amazon, as well as five stars from Readers’ Favorite, with reviewers saying that it is ‘beautifully illustrated’. Also with a 92% rating on The Book Reviewers

Thank you, Sarah!

Charming picture book … Beautifully illustrated with an evocative text, it has kind messages about scary night-times and will encourage children to practise their counting

★★★★ – The Bookbag

“A wide-awake sheep echoes the story of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” in this humorous British import from debut author Adams and veteran illustrator Wills (Annie’s Grannies in Decorating Disaster, 2017, etc.) … Wills’ sheep are wonderfully fluffy, and the green moors and blue sky are cozy for bedtime storytelling.”

This is an adorable bedtime book with soothing prose and dreamy illustrations. The watercolors are calming and soft, just like the adorable lamb Tansy. And every parent knows the phrase, “I can’t sleep!” This charming book allows little readers to see what it’s like for everyone else when they are constantly woken up by a sleepless little one. The book also shows that sometimes sleeping can be hard, and children (and adults!) who are restless are not alone. Full of endearing little scenes and huggable sheep, this is a great book for any child’s bedtime. Highly recommended.“… Read More Here
