A Warm and Whimsical Christmas Hello
Soft fairy lights. A steaming cup of tea. Sketchbooks open across the desk. A cat or two wandering through the scene as if they own the place. That is exactly the kind of atmosphere that fills our studio at this time of year, and it feels only right to bring some of that magic to you, too. As we move into the cosiest stretch of the season, we have taken a moment to reflect on what has been a wonderfully creative year here at Happydesigner. The Happy Hub has been bursting with ideas, colour, imagination and a good dose of playful fun. This festive post is our way of saying thank you and sharing some of the creative highlights that have brought joy to our little corner of the world.

A Big Festive Thank You from the Happydesigner Team
Before we unwrap the year, we want to give our biggest, warmest thanks to everyone who has been part of the journey in 2025. To the authors who trusted us with their stories. To the parents and teachers who shared our posts with the next generation of little creators. To the small business owners who came to us with their branding dreams. To the readers who visited The Happy Hub for a smile, a spark of inspiration or a moment of calm with a cuppa.
Every idea you send our way is a seed that grows into something colourful and full of character. We truly love what we do, and that joy comes from the people who join us along the way. Thank you for inspiring us. Thank you for cheering us on. Thank you for helping make Happydesigner such a warm and creative community.
Cosy Up! Highlights from This Year on The Happy Hub
What a year it has been for The Happy Hub. Full of crafty fun, mindful moments, messy adventures and a fair amount of feline mischief. Here are some of the posts that brought extra sparkle to our studio.
Rainy Days and Bright Minds
In early December, we shared Grey Skies, Bright Minds: Rainy Day Fun Indoors, a gentle celebration of those drizzly days when the world goes quiet, and the indoors becomes a haven. The post encouraged families to see rainy weather not as a disruption but as an invitation. An invitation to create, read, doodle, build blanket forts or simply curl up with a story. It was a reminder that imagination thrives just as well under a grey sky as it does under a sunny one.
Baking Tales in the Kitchen
On the very same day, we explored the magic of mixing bakes with stories in From Oven to Imagination: Turning Treats into Tales. The kitchen becomes a place where creativity rises as easily as dough. Mince pies can spark ideas for tiny characters. Gingerbread biscuits can inspire new creatures. Even stirring a bowl can feel like swirling a story to life. This post felt particularly fitting as we moved closer to the season of cinnamon, cosy socks and oven-warmed evenings.
Mud Splashes and Creative Play
November brought us Twigs, Mud and Magic, a heartwarming celebration of messy play. Children have an amazing ability to transform mud, twigs and stones into entire worlds filled with characters and possibilities. The post reminded us that creativity does not need to be tidy or polished. Sometimes the best ideas come from squelching in puddles, collecting leaves or stirring a potion made of who knows what. Winter walks may be chilly, but they still offer tiny treasures waiting to become art.
Creativity in the Smallest Moments
We also loved sharing Tiny Breaks, Giant Ideas, a gentle nod to the fact that creativity often appears in the quietest seconds. Waiting for the kettle to boil. Letting the dog out. Taking a breather between tasks. These moments can hold surprising sparks of inspiration if we give them space. It was a lovely reminder to slow down, especially during the busiest season of the year.
Paws, Fur and Playful Chaos
Our studio cats (Erik, Ernie, and Eddy), who seem determined to appear in absolutely everything we do, starred in Meowgical Thinking: Why Every Creative Needs a Cat (or Two). It was a joyful tribute to the furry companions who wander across keyboards, sit proudly on important papers and inspire us simply by being their quirky selves. With wrapping paper, ribbons and cosy blankets everywhere throughout December, it is fair to say they are having the time of their lives.
Colour, Feelings and Imaginary Worlds
We also explored the emotional and imaginative side of creativity with posts like The Colour Code, Feeling Blue? Try Drawing It in Pink and Invent-a-Tale. Each one offered something special.
- The Colour Code encouraged children and families to play with the meaning of favourite colours.
- Drawing It in Pink focused on supporting wellbeing through art.
- Invent-a-Tale celebrated the magic of making up stories together on quiet evenings.
All three captured the heart of what we love most about The Happy Hub. Simple ideas that spark connection, creativity and joy.

A Year of Creativity: Other Happy Hub Posts Worth Celebrating
This year also brought a delightful mix of crafting, baking, mindfulness and creative play. We enjoyed sharing:
- Bake a Story, which mixed imagination with delicious treats.
- Nature’s Art Box, full of crafty ideas using leaves, twigs and other natural treasures.
- Draw Your Feelings, which helped little ones express themselves through art.
- Why a Little Boredom Might Be the Best Thing for Your Brain, a reminder that stillness can be wonderfully productive.
- Why not create your own book this summer, which encourages families to write and illustrate their own stories.
Every one of these posts helped make 2025 a colourful journey on The Happy Hub.
Peeking into 2026: What’s Next for The Happy Hub and Happydesigner
As we head into a brand new year, we are already excited about what is to come. More crafty ideas. More storytelling sparks. More behind-the-scenes peeks into the illustration process. More tips for budding authors and illustrators. And of course, more colourful characters and cosy creative moments shared on The Happy Hub.
For anyone dreaming of creating a children’s book, designing a character or giving their business a beautifully illustrated identity, we would be delighted to chat. Every new project brings something special to our studio, and we cannot wait to see what stories the new year will bring.
